Since February 13, 2022, covid-19 has effectively curbed the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Suzhou, and has effectively strengthened the "prevention of spillover and non-proliferation". In conjunction with the current epidemic prevention and control situation, Suzhou's epidemic prevention department has organized residents to do emergency nucleic acid testing. Medical workers everywhere and a large number of volunteers rushed ahead, racing against time and competing with the virus.
Facing the severe test of "Omicron", Hannah Liu Biying, the 10th outstanding graduate of the International Department of Suzhou No. 1 High School, took the initiative to fight the front line and actively participate in voluntary services for epidemic prevention and control. She adheres to the spirit of the school motto, lives up to her youth and mission, builds a youth defense line against epidemic with practical actions, and demonstrates the responsibility of young people!

Voluntary heart · origin
After the outbreak of the epidemic in Suzhou, many medical workers and friends around her have become very busy. Hannah's father rushed to the front line as a "big white" for the first time. People around her are contributing their own strength to the "anti epidemic" action in Suzhou. Hannah is deeply inspired by this spirit. However, because Suzhou has very strict requirements for front-line volunteers, they need to complete three injections of Covid-19 vaccine before they can sign up. Hannah has only injected two injections, focuses on the recruitment information of volunteers in the rear. Even if she is not in front of the charge, she can still provide logistics support, material transfer, news publicity and other work for the epidemic in Suzhou.
"Because the epidemic in Suzhou is not a personal matter, I think we need to unite, just like how we overcame the epidemic in Wuhan at that time. So I hope to contribute as much as possible and also want to repay the society!" Hannah recalled the epidemic situation in Wuhan, sincerely expressed.
The road of volunteerism
When Hannah told her family the news of signing up as a volunteer, none of her family did not support her. As a front-line volunteer, her father specially told her about the difficulties of volunteer work and hoped that while protecting her own safety, she would always uphold the consciousness of always meeting all difficulties. With this belief, Hannah endured the subzero temperature and went back and forth between the community and the monitoring point every day before dawn at four or five o'clock.
"After Dad and I explained, I was thinking, anyway, since I have a strong desire, it means that I am ready to bear hardships, otherwise this eager to devote my heart is not pure."
Volunteer work · process
Hannah 's volunteer work is to be responsible for news publicity, count the donated materials of all parties in the community, collect and sort out the information materials of volunteers, summarize these situations into text form and publish them into articles. Even though she is not the "big white" who charged on the front line, she "sent" the dedication of front-line medical workers and the warmth of the whole society to us.
"Compared with the anti epidemic workers in the front line, I may be young, but I am firm enough. As long as I think I am dedicated to the cause of 'anti epidemic' in Suzhou, I feel particularly warm-blooded and glorious!" From Hannah 's words, we can always hear the regret of the new generation of Chinese youth.
Voluntary emotion · touch
During her time as a volunteer, what impressed Hannah most was the group of "most familiar strangers" who volunteered together. There are more than 500 volunteers in her community. Among them, the volunteers who have received three doses of new coronavirus vaccine also expressed their first-line help. If other communities in Suzhou need it, they will be in place immediately. Although they also have their own lives and work as volunteers, in the face of the Suzhou epidemic, everyone is very proactive and willing to lend a helping hand when they don't know each other.
"At this point, I feel that the people of Suzhou and the big family of Jiangsu are very united. The whole anti epidemic spirit and anti epidemic atmosphere are very good. As a Suzhou local, we should take the initiative to undertake the mission of defending our hometown and fighting the epidemic at this critical moment, and do our best to make more contributions to the community!" Hannah is more and more firm in her choice and decision.
Wish
Now, Hannah 's volunteer road of the epidemic has ended, but she still pays close attention to the epidemic information released by major media. She hopes that her younger brothers and sisters can also grasp the present, cherish their identity as students, and learn more knowledge and skills as much as possible. During college, they can learn their majors while looking for areas of interest, and determine their future employment direction in advance. She felt that since the outbreak of the global epidemic, people's working methods have also undergone great changes, which are no longer the same as the previous traditional working mode or job hunting. She sincerely suggested that younger and younger students should communicate with teachers as much as possible to explore their potential.
"When I was their age, I always wanted to go abroad to go to college and graduate quickly, but now looking back, the three years in the International Department of No. 1 High School were really my happiest time, and now I often think of those years. My brothers and sisters must take advantage of these three years to improve themselves, because they will not have much college entrance construction in line with themselves when they go abroad You need to find out for yourself. " Maybe people's growth starts from constantly remembering the past
At present, the alumni and teaching staff of the International Department stand up and contribute their strength to volunteer in various regions and lines, work together with front-line medical workers to fight the epidemic and bring care to the society. No winter is insurmountable and no spring will not come. I believe that as long as we move forward side by side and overcome the difficulties, we will be able to completely overcome the epidemic and embrace the warmth of spring!
